QLINE TO OFFER SPECIAL SERVICE FOR DLECTRICITY

Streetcars to Run Friday and Saturday 6 p.m. to Midnight Prior to Return to Regular Service Monday, September 27

QLINE will offer special service for DLECTRICITY prior to its regular service relaunch on Monday, September 27.

“We are excited to kick off the return of the QLINE in partnership with DLECTRICITY,” said M-1 RAIL President Lisa Nuszkowski. “As regular activity continues returning to the Woodward Corridor, we are focused on connecting riders to all there is to experience along the QLINE.”

The two-day outdoor nighttime arts and technology festival along the Woodward Corridor will take place Friday and Saturday, September 24-25 from 7 p.m. to midnight. QLINE service will begin at 6 p.m. both evenings. For more information about DLECTRICITY and a schedule of events, visit dlectricity.com.

Following the special event hours Friday and Saturday evening, QLINE will return to regular service on Monday, September 27, operating free for passengers for the remainder of the year.

At relaunch, hours will run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday – Thursday and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. As employers return to offices from COVID-19 and regular activity increases along the route, QLINE will assess demand and adjust hours accordingly.

QLINE’s goal of service every 15 minutes or less at restart was made possible by improvements made during the service pause. A transit-only section of the route was installed southbound from Temple to the I-75 service drive, ensuring smooth passage of the QLINE during special events. Additional operators, new technology in the streetcars, and the ability to remove obstructions more expeditiously will ensure riders can depend on QLINE.

“This is the start of a new chapter for the QLINE,” said M-1 RAIL CEO Matt Cullen. “We appreciate the patience of our riders during the service pause and we’re excited to help the Woodward Corridor emerge from the pandemic.”
