Gary Schwartz Intergenerational Workshop Still Accepting Applicants
There is still space in DLECTRICITY artist Gary Schwartz’s 6-week intergenerational workshop, “Visual Storytelling Animation Workshop,” held on Saturdays from July 22-August 26. Participation is limited to 12 participants: six people (age 60+) and six people (age 13-21). Applicants must commit to every Saturday in order to participate. These workshops will be held at the Luella Hannan Memorial Foundation located at 4750 Woodward in Midtown Detroit. Participants will create an animated project based on the motto of Detroit ‘SPERAMUS MELIORA RESURGET CINERIBUS’ – We hope for better things; it will rise from the ashes. This project will explore differences in interpretation and perspective while facilitating student learning in kinetic typography, an animation technique mixing motion and text. The final animation will be projected on the Hannan building front windows for display to the community during Dlectricity, September 22 + 23, 2017. SIGN UP HERE!
