On Love & Data and Holding Space

33. On Love & Data and Holding Space

Artist Information

Stamps Gallery is proud to premier a new projection work by Stephanie Dinkins at DLECTRICITY in Detroit that extends into a visual poem and offers glimpses into an Afro-now-ist world she has envisioned. In this world, Dinkins illuminates the power and resilience in black women’s stories, reminding us that sharing and receiving stories is an act of resistance. This projection is part of a major survey of Dinkins work titled Stephanie Dinkins: On Love & Data that runs at Stamps Gallery until October 23, 2021. Curated by Srimoyee Mitra.

Stamps Gallery is part of the Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design. We are an incubator and lab for contemporary artists and designers to explore ideas and projects that catalyze positive social change. Building on the school’s strong tradition of excellence, thought leadership and community engagement, our goal is to develop innovative and scholarly exhibitions, publications and public programs that foster inclusive platforms for inquiry into the urgent questions and concerns of our time.
