Get Big

4. Get Big

Mask Required In Line (Regardless of Vaccination Status). Social Distancing Encouraged.

Artist Information

Get Big will be an interactive installation that simulates a music video in real time. Artist Tiff Massey creates an environment that utilizes elements of design, technology and hip-hop, highlighting her current investigations in adornment, while simultaneously subverting the focus from object to participant by documenting a moment of confidence or narcissism.

For Get Big 1.0, Massey makes an immersive music video featuring her jewelry store and her own sculptural artworks. Viewers will be invited to walk into the space and once the participant walks in, the beat drops, the music starts, the cameras are activated, and the viewer is projected onto the two, thirteen-foot-long LED screens bookending the space. They become the artwork.

What happens when the viewer becomes adorned and how does the environment facilitate that transition from the unadorned to the adorned? How does the context and placement of an object influence an individual’s perception of self? The exhibit first seduces the viewer, creating a desire to dance, strut, and act out.

Motion Graphics by Demario Dotson.
Music by Geno XO, Maestro Williams and Dez Andres.
