Visual Music

22. Visual Music

The inspiration for this video comes from our interest in visual music, which is defined by the use of musical structures in the making of visual art. Every day examples include the party lights, light wheels, and color organs that lit up high school dances and suburban basements in the 60s and 70s; light therapy and light-based meditation / relaxation devices from the 80s and 90s; along with the laser, strobe, glow and optical illusion toys available at dollar stores today. We’ve been collecting light making machines for years and decided to make a video featuring these devices and the colors, patterns and moods they create. Special thanks to Jason Georgiades for helping us shoot it!
