Rise & Fall: Repeat.

26. Rise & Fall: Repeat.

“Rise & Fall: Repeat.” is a sound and video installation consisting of seemingly disjointed fragments of non-thematic absurdist entertainment, unified through rhythm. The installation consists of multiple original videos seamlessly flanking one another to create one larger piece.  Each video contains a short loop of an action with sound which produces a musical element.  These musical elements combine to create an original piece of music.  The end result is an visually complex/sonically charged, multimedia experience.

The title “Rise & Fall: Repeat.” references rhythm and musicality as well as the imagery that is seen in the video component of the piece. The musical composition is an original piece inline with the already established sound of ADULT. The visuals consist of mostly absurdist situations that could equally be read as interpretations of Camus’ “The Myth of Sisyphus” or reenactments of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” with historical references to Bruce Nauman’s “Clown Torture” series or the stuttering video work of Raphael Montañez Ortiz.  We believe “the absurd” relates to everyone on a personal level while simultaneously illuminating a greater universal condition.

“DLECTRICITY” will be the premier for this piece.
